Big Canoe, GA (PRBuzz.com) February 17, 2012 -- The preschool and kindergarten of Wildwood Christian Academy were visited by Big Canoe's Fire Department in recognition of Fire Prevention Month. The classes learned the importance of staying below smoke and how to stop, drop, and roll. The students were taught what firefighters look like in full uniform so they will trust a masked firefighter in an emergency. The lesson became even more meaningful when kindergarten teacher Lauren Melton put on the uniform to show what she would look like as a firefighter. Life saving lessons were indeed learned. However, a preliminary poll of preschool and kindergarten students at Wildwood Christian Academy indicates that the best part of Fire Prevention Month is climbing on the fire engine and having the firefighters turn on the siren.
